Why you Need an Organized Bag
I’m sure you’ve seen many posts and Youtube videos of the contents of other people’s bags. This isn’t so different but I’m hoping to show you the benefits of prioritising what you carry around with you. For one it is quite annoying having an over filled bag when you’re out and about, rummaging trying to find your keys or cards. It is also bad for your back and posture carrying around a really heavy bag. For context, I work in a university, I don’t have children and I live in the UK. What you need may look completely different.
My Essentials:
My bag is from Manière de Voir – they have the coolest futuristic looking bags and clothes which are really good quality and super affordable. I am a bit obsessed.
Card Holder – I don’t carry cash in general, just a £20 for emergencies. I have my bank cards and driving license.
Keys – car/house keys and a big keychain so I can find my keys easily. I also colour code my keys because I am cool like that…
Phone
Reusable water bottle – I got one of those that pressures you into drinking more water with markings indicating how much water you should drink throughout the day, otherwise I just don’t drink water!
Hand sanitiser
Tissues
Lip Balm – From Dr. Pawpaw – tinted peach
Lipstick – NYX Matte Lipstick in the shade Montreal
Tampon
Refillable Perfume Atomiser – with my daily wear Chanel Mademoiselle
Hairband
How to Have an Organized Bag
1. Empty your bag and purse
2. Throw away all the trash
3. Sort items into categories: Papers, money/cards/store cards, cosmetics, electronics, books, stationary, snacks.
4. Evaluate what you need in your bag:
Are there items that are duplicated? Do you need 4 lipsticks and 2 chap-sticks in your bag? Rehome items that don’t belong in your bag or get rid of them.
5. Does anything need replacing?
I got myself a new keychain as my previous one broke. Can you repurpose anything from around your home before purchasing something new?
6. Can your items be stored better?
You could use a purse insert organiser or pouches to separate cosmetics and electronics. Use the pockets inside your bag.

Items that are regularly used should be the most accessible such as keys and your wallet.
Store items vertically – so you can easily access everything and see it when you look in your bag
